Description
5:30 am the alarm goes off. Our hiking bags are already ready but we have to drive to the start of the trail in the Parc des Ecrins.
The day before, the weather was too bad to attempt the ascent to the Glacier Blanc and hope to pitch our tent as close as possible.
But that morning, we might have had a window to see it.
It is 6 o'clock when we advance step by step in the dark, lit by our headlamps. The air is humid, the sky heavy and two eyes are staring at us ... a chamois is awake.
Footsteps follow one another and the day is gradually breaking but the mist persists. The landscape at least what we perceive changes from one moment to another and the light is so special, the atmosphere mysterious ...
Then, the glacier appeared and the sky did not stop dancing above us.
What a sight… Captivated, we stayed up there without paying attention to the passing hours contemplating every detail, enjoying every moment.
